Pocketbook Friendly Wedding Flowers Become a Magical Garden Party

Posted on: February 11th, 2018 by melanie No Comments

We just love a garden wedding and this little gem is one of our favorites. Our budget conscious bride splurged on dreamy linens from La Tavola, rentals from Vintage Ambiance and a delicious brunch for 20 guests. When it came time to choose flowers she chose our Pocketbook Friendly wedding flowers because she knew they would be beautiful, fresh and keep her budget on point.

She chose our Lexy brides bouquet for its romantic garden roses and peonies, our Anna bridesmaids bouquets and a few boutonnieres for the personal flowers. Our Aisle Vases, one of our favorite choices, were used on the wedding reception tables after the ceremony. A mix of rustic tins and bottles finished off the look. The bride picked a few stems from the garden and placed those into vases she had and used some of the blooms as a napkin detail. There were lots of details in this wedding and the bride did a wonderful job of mixing french china and glass ware with rustic elements.

Some of the flower we used for this summer wedding were peonies for the brides bouquet, we were really luck to find this one bunch for her bouquet, dahlias, pincushion flowers, spray roses, alstromeria, stock, mint and a few other blooms. The color palate was blush with pops of fuchsia which went really well with the flowers blooming in the garden

Summer at the Farm Kitchen

Posted on: January 16th, 2016 by melanie No Comments

Peachy pink flowers fresh from the garden are what we used for this super sweet Farm Kitchen wedding. The Farm Kitchen has a relaxed country feel with display and working gardens, orchards and a bachelors cabin. For this wedding we chose locally grown flowers and some from our own cutting garden. Blush garden roses, fruit, clematis, cafe dahlias, vines and sage hydrangeas in pale shades are some of the flowers we used in Sarah’s bridal bouquet. We took inspiration from her bouquet and used them for the ceremony aisle and for the reception tables. Sarah’s beautiful dress from the dress theory in Seattle, we love them. Photos by Kristen Marie, what can I say…Cake, Black Bird Bakery on Bainbridge Island.

sodo park wedding

fIts always so fun to work with Michelle at Married and More with Michelle so when she called and said she had a fun couple I was super excited. Amanda and Matt were so sweet and their style shows in this fun and whimsical wedding. Amanda designed all the paper products for her wedding and we took our color inspiration from those colors. Mint, pink and blue could turn out to be a muddle but I love how everything turned out. The pink color came from the Ballerina rose. a pretty single rose that is very difficult to get. Amanda and Matt were engaged under a rose arbor covered with Ballerina so we had to have them on the Chuppah. For the aisle we filled mint vases with minty colored flowers and foliages with light pink and green tulips. A touch of blue came from the velvet ribbon we used to hang them from chairs. Each guest table had a blue glass table filled with spring flowers in pink and green with blue votive holders. I love this wedding and this super cool couple.

Ariella Chezar Workshop

Posted on: June 21st, 2014 by melanie No Comments

Alexander Valley in Northern California is one of my favorite places and Ariella Chezar is one of my favorite floral designers the two came together for 3 extraordinary days this May. Ariella has a lovely way of teaching her techniques and style of design, its such a joy to spend time with her. New flower friends and some old ones spent our time at Chalk Hill Clematis owned and created by the most gracious Kaye and Richard Heafey.

Elegant Marries Dashing

Posted on: October 31st, 2013 by melanie No Comments

I was having trouble coming up with one word to describe Elizabeth, beautiful, classic, gracious but I think elegant encompasses all of those qualities. Then there is the groom well what can I say, dashing sums it up. Together they seem so right. elegant bride and a dashing groom

JM Cellars Wedding

Posted on: February 25th, 2013 by melanie No Comments

JM Cellars is such a special place for a wedding. The wedding has to be on the small side, but every inch of the winery is lovely. Our bride planned an intimate wedding for sixteen from across the country. Beckie from Vintage Ambiance designed and hung the romantic chandelier. MBF added one large arrangement along with an eclectic mix of sweet little flowers to the single guest table. The bride was dresses in lace so we made a bouquet with lots of textures and soft colors.

Peach and grey wedding flowers

Posted on: February 2nd, 2013 by melanie No Comments

Lots of brides this year want peach wedding flowers. Their bridesmaids are wearing grey and peach is a great color for a grey dress. Grey is a great neutral color that goes well with most all flowers. I painted my house grey for just that reason. For this wedding at the Manor House on Bainbridge Island we used peachy pink flowers with some creams and pale yellow.

Summer Reception

Posted on: November 26th, 2012 by melanie No Comments

We showed a lovely summer ceremony the other day, here is the reception. Blush, peach, pink and a bit of lavender made for beautiful wedding flowers at the Fram Kitchen. Burlap table runners were a nice contrast and added texture to the ivory linens. Flowers from the aisle were placed on the tables and we added sweet little arrangements made in bottles. Succulents in rustic tin cans and hobnail votive holders were a great addition to eclectic look. The bride is a German teacher so all the tables were numbered in german. It is alway a great idea to personalize your wedding is someway that is meaningful to you but is also enjoyed by your guests and adds to the decor.

FARM KITCHEN WEDDING

Posted on: November 17th, 2012 by melanie No Comments

I love the Farm Kitchen. Well I am kind of a country girl, but the relaxed beauty of the farm is so very charming. Photographers always take advantage of the multiple photo ops and Stacey Jacobsen of Love Study Photography is no exception. She took the seriously

amazing photos this summer. My lovely bride is a german teacher and named all her table in german, which took me a minute to understand. We chose pink flowers with touches of lavender, yellow crespedia and succulents. Burlap runners, with standard white table linens and inexpensive chairs can dramatically not enhance the decor. I think this is truly an exception with the overall look very pretty, not to girly and very warm and friendly.farm kitchen, wedding, wedding flowers, melanie benson floral

Bainbridge Island Country Wedding

Posted on: November 8th, 2012 by melanie No Comments

Bainbridge Island was the setting for this fun country Wedding. The old farm is a new wedding venue complete with a victorian house and a red barn. The brides family collect vintage silver pieces for over a year and planted them with succulents for the guest tables. We made all the bouquets from fun garden flowers to go with the vintage dresses. Boutonnieres were made from textures and wrapped with twine. The bride chose a short vintage dress which looked really great on her. Allison Lum did a great job, as always, coordinating every detail of the ceremony and reception. Stellar photographer Kristen Honeycutt captured all the best moments of the day
