Winter Flowers

If you look out your window its hard to see any flowers in bloom, but there are so many wonderful textures to be found right in you own garden, or maybe your neighbors. In this wintery arrangement we used a birch box and filled it with greenery from our garden; fir, cedar, boxwood, ivy and hellebore foliage. There was so much more to find like holy, lichen branches, redwood, pieris, two kinds of huckleberry and many other wonderful greens and textures. Especially in winter its easy to use fewer flowers and give each bloom some space to contrast with all the interesting greens and textures available in winter. Monochromatic is always a great choice for a flower arrangement making a restful and interesting bouquet. Since we used all white flowers we were able to use many different floral varieties without the arrangement becoming  fussy. Using just a few of each bloom we chose were mini green hydrangeas, hellebore, spray roses, freesia, mini carnation, amaryllis, football mums and roses.
